Project Exhibition Organized by Commerce Department




The department of Commerce of Kaveri College of arts science and commerce under Kaveri Research and Innovation Centre had organized Project Exhibition on 16th  January 2018. The exhibition was inaugurated Dr. Mahesh Thakur, Director- CSR Cell, Karve Institute Pune. Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Secretary, Kannada Sangha, Dr. S.B. Kharosekar, Principal, Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty, Vice Principal, Mrs. Deepa Sathe, Co-ordinator Commerce, Staff members and Students were present on the occasion.
Dr. Mahesh Thakur, in his inaugural speech informed students about various ongoing CSR projects by reputed companies like LG, Zensar, Cummins India Ltd. Etc. He cited examples of CSR projects giving Innovative solutions in the field of agriculture production and development of tribal areas. He also emphasized on the need to conserve energy, segregation of the waste, kitchen waste management, appropriate waste disposal projects. He appealed students to come together and work for the environmental projects for CSR activities of various companies.
Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Secretary, Kannada Sangha appreciated student’s efforts and their willingness to contribute towards the society’s wellbeing. Dr. S. B. Kharosekar in his address congratulated the students for their participation, enthusiasm and awareness about the environment.  
Total 225 students of SYBCOM formed teams and worked with different environmental NGOs from Pune City such as Euonia Therapy, Change We Need, Jeevit Nadi Foundation, Green Life, Change Together We Can, Green Thumb, and Sagar Mitra etc.  Based on their findings, the students submitted about 50 group-projects out of which, 23 projects were selected for the presentation. Their projects were based on various environmental issues such as Sanitary Waste Management, Tree Plantation and Tree Nurturing, Segregation of Plastic, E-Waste, Recycle and Reuse, Afforestation, Improving Green cover, Cleaning of Historical Places, Water Segregation, Khadakwasla Dam Rejuvenation etc.
