Orientation Program for the First Year Students at Kaveri College





It is that time of the year when colleges across the State reopen and are abuzz with new faces-‘freshers’ as they are called in college lingo. Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri College of Arts, Science and Commerce is no exception as students from all parts of Maharashtra trusted it as their first choice for further education.

To welcome the new students of the first year students of B.Com, B.Sc., BBA, BBA (CA), BBA (IB) and BA and to make them aware of the college life an Orientation Program was held on 15 July, 2017 in the college auditorium.

Mr. Kushal Hegde, President, Kannada Sangha, Pune, Mrs. Malati Kalmadi, Secretary, Kannada Sangha, Dr. S.B.Kharosekar, Principal, Kaveri College, Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty, Vice Principal, Teachers and alumni were present on this occasion.  The first year students and their parents in large number attended the programme. The programme began with the recitation of Vidyapeeth Geet. In her welcome speech, Mrs. Suchismita Mohanty appealed the students to make the best use of all facilitates and activities offered by the college for their holistic development.
Mr. Kushal Hegde welcomed the students and lauded the meteoric rise of the College in a very short span of time. He praised the abled leadership of Principal Dr. S. B. Kharosekar and the ever helpful teaching staff. He assured the parents about their ward’s overall development and at the same time continuous thriving of the college.  

 “Kaveri College stands for quality education,” said Mrs. Malati Kalmadi. She said that Kaveri College has never compromised on the quality of education that it imparts to students and hence has become a name to reckon with and is competing with the big names in the field. She asked students to be regular at the classes as each class is enriching and helps student learn the subject better.    

Dr. S.B. Kharosekar said that in its 13th year, the College is scaling greater heights in all aspects of imparting education. He emphasized on the need of Parent-teacher relationship and appealed that both should work together for the betterment of their wards. He said a student can taste success only when he starts believing in positivity, identifies obstacles and overcome them, identifies her/his strength, and above all if she/he believes in the power of Almighty.

On this occasion, three of the alumni of the college, Ms. Sushmita Sumant, Ms. Tanvi Washikar, and Prachi Dabi shared their experiences at the college and how the college contributed in making them today a responsible individual. The glimpses of various events and activities to be carried out by the college in the academic year ahead were presented by Ms. Sayee Kulkarni.

Mrs. Puja Ambole compered the programme while Dr. Muckta Karmarkar, Head, Cultural Committee, proposed the vote of thanks.
